An Iowa Hawkeye Afghan for my Hubby

Good morning.  I have been super sick for several days now so I haven't been crafting a lot.  I hope you all are staying well!

Today I am sharing a project that I finished last November.  I had to have surgery and while I was recovering, my hubby asked me if I would crochet him a special afghan.  Absolutely!!!  I love it when he asks me to make him a special project!!!

He's from Iowa, and loves his Hawkeyes.  I found this amazing website that sells the patterns for a variety of themed afghans like this.  It turned out great, and the instructions were super easy to follow.

I doubled the size of the afghan per his request.  I was standing on our hearth to get this picture!  It is a great blanket and totally big enough for a snuggle up movie night!

The website that I bought it from is City USA, and they have a huge selection of patterns for all sorts of sports themes, holidays, animals...you name it.  Go check them out here!

Stay well, and stay crafty!

Valentine Card Swap

I am part of a really great and talented group of ladies, and we do swaps of all kinds from time to time.  We have been a little quiet for a while, but this year we are going to step it up!

For February, we did a Valentine Card Swap.  Six of us were involved and it was so much fun.

Here are the beautiful cards that the ladies made for me.  Aren't they lovely!!!

Below are the cards that I made for the ladies.  I saw a card on Silhouette by Lori Whitlock, a Wiper Card.  I loved the idea, but wanted a bigger card (6x6").  I reworked some measurements and came up with these lovely cards.

I also made tags for each of the cards that the ladies could use in a project/card or could use as a bookmark if they wanted.  The sentiments were from Silhouette.  I just printed them out to size.  I love the kinds of sentiments you can find!

Aren't these cute?  I love how the "wiper" just pops up when you open the card.

I used papers from Park Lane (card stock), and from Echo Park.  I used the "Love Story" by Lori Whitlock.  I'll put a list of other supplies at the end of the post.

On the back of the cards I added an envelope where I wrote a letter and put the tag.  This card is cute, but there wasn't a good place to tuck a letter.  The envelope was a perfect solution.

The other supplies I used were stickers from Hobby Lobby, Pearls from Queen B, Tags from American Crafts, Doilies from Martha Stewart, and Saying Stickers from Tim Holtz.

Thanks for looking!

Have a wonderfully crafty day!

"I'm Happiest When I'm With You" Folio

Good Morning, All, and Happy February!

It's the month of Love and Valentines, and I have an album for you that is full of romance and all things lovey dovey!

I just love how this turned out, and I'm excited to show it to you.  This is a recreation of an album I did called "Everyday Captured".  You can find the finished album here, and there are several tutorial posts as well.  I sold it at a craft fair, and a lady asked if I can make another one.  This is for her.

I created my own folio, gathered a bunch of kraft cards and envelopes, some file folders and just went to town.  I also did not have to shop for a thing for this album, It was quite a stash buster!  When I made the folio, I went ahead and made two.  I am going to make another.  I just love how it looks, and how much it can hold.

I used magnets to keep these envelope pages together.

Under these envelope flaps are tags in a belly band.

This section is held closed with tags and some twine.  I have flips and pockets everywhere.

The paper line is amazing.  I will have a list of what I used at the bottom of the post.

I used some file folders and created pages under this section.  It made for great picture mats.

Under the file folders is a pocket that I put a journal in.  It was also part of this collection.

I am planning on making a video to show all of the goodies, and I will post it when I get it done.
