A Halloween DIY Smash Book

I was cleaning the other day and ran across this binder that was supposed to be used to store planner pages.  It is a 3 ring binder, and it has a lot of room.  Then, I got an idea!
I went through all of my Halloween supplies, and I created a DIY Halloween themed smash book!  I used flowers from Recollections and bling from Prima.  The skull center of the flower I got at a scrapbook convention, and unfortunately, I don't know who made it as there wasn't a package.
I went through all of my papers and selected a bunch for my book.  I added 4 envelopes and 4 black paper bags.
Here is a sneak peek inside.  The "bones" (yes, pun intended) are done, now I am going to decorate it.  I will show you the finished book when I am all done.

The coolest purse EVER!!!

Some girls are shoe girls, some are purse girls.  I am a purse girl.  I don't have to have fancy purses, if they are cool and functional and big they are for me.  I recently found a cooler than cool web site that you have got to check out.

To start off with, this page in my DIY Smash Book (on the left) is the page I made to show off my MEAT LOAF TICKETS!!!  My husband took me to see him when he was here in January!  I had seen him before, in 1995, and I swore if he came back I would be there no  matter what.  I was super sick, but I went anyway, I could not miss him!!!
So, at Music Purse they make purses out of albums.  Yes, you read right!  My first Meat Loaf cassette was this one.  I wore it out THREE TIMES!!  Then, I got it on CD.  I never had it on vinyl until now.
It has a zippered top, an adjustable handle, it is lined, and has two outside pockets.

Check out the site!  If she doesn't have it listed, send her an email.  She had this album in stock, but not made.  Since I enquired, she made it for me!  They will even, if they don't have the album you want, make one out of an album you send to them!  So, who is your favorite artist?

Sneak Peek!

I have another project in the works...I am showing you a little peak of it.  I am hoping I will get it done this weekend.
I gathered a bunch of cool Halloween papers, both old and new...
I got some cardstock, some chipboard, and some paper bags...
And I am working on a mini album for Halloween!  This book is influenced by a combination of works done by the ladies from the blogs Paper Phenomenon and The Paper Trail.  But, of course,  I am tweaking it to make some cool additions and changes.  I love the colors and the "eeriness" of the papers.  I think this is going to be a wickedly cool mini.  What do you think?

The DIY Smash Book Addiction Continues...

OK, here is another one!  I am sorry that this post is "pic heavy", but I wanted to show you some of the cool pages in this book.  This was made with covers by 7 Gypsies.

This was made with covers by 7 Gypsies.

 Postcards...
I found an old family finance record book at the thrift store...I love the categories!

The flower is a postcard that I had saved and never used...until now.
I included an envelope from the bank.
I found these great flash cards at the thrift store also.
 Paint chips that are HUGE.

I got the ledger binder refill papers at the local office store.  I folded them and added them.
 A brochure envelope...
The "M" note pad was from Michael's.  At the bottom are all of the Months and the days, so you could circle the appropriate one for the days entry.
The cd envelopes are leftovers  from work, and the recipe cards I found at the thrift store...I love them, they look so "retro" to me.
I added some packaging from some scrapbooking supplies that looked like wood.
A cardboard page needed to be in here as well.

 More postcards...
Packaging from  the 7 Gypsies book covers, and another recipe card!
Another paint chip.  I added mini binder clips throughout as well so that I could clip things in.

It's time to start thinking about HALLOWEEN!

I saw a UStream class by Elsa last Saturday!  She showed us how to make a coin envelope mini album.  I couldn't resist and made one for myself right after I made supper.  I think it is never too late to think about Halloween!
I used 10 envelopes in all to make this.  It has three large tag pockets and I created a couple for smaller tags that came with the paper line.  It is Authentiques "Glowing" collection.  I think it is adorable and spooky all at the same time.  I raided my stash for bling and flowers.  The floss is for the Sew Easy, but I used it for tag ties.  It is bound by ribbons in the most clever way.  GO CHECK OUT HER CLASS!
The paper line comes with some die cuts that I used all over to decorate.  The large orange flowers are on the larger tags that come out of the coin envelopes.
Three of the pages have fold  outs for more places to put pictures and journaling..

This shows the large tag, I added a die cut tag to this pocket.
 More pages...

This is the back page.

Stay spooky, my friends!

Swap Cards

I made these cards for a swap I did on Split Coast Stampers.
This one is a triple fold easel card that fits into a business envelope.

This is a gatefold with pockets...
The tags come out.  I meant for one to be for a handwritten message and the other could be for a gift card.
 The waterfall card.

Excuse the pic, I know it is blurry.

Sarah's Birthday Card!

I used papers from House of Three to make this card for my beautiful daughter-in-law.  She called this her "First 29th" birthday!  I told her that she will love it so much that she will keep having them!!

I used bling from Recollections, crochet lace from the Lost and Found collection.  The yellow polka dot paper is actually packaging from the dimensional stickers.
I made the butterfly using the new EK Success triple punch butterfly punch.  It is super cool, it punches three different images so you can layer them.
The inside of the card, with more bling, more dimensional stickers and die cuts from that line.
For the envelope, I used another sticker from the line, and flowers from Recollections and Prima.

Have a crafty day!
