Mother's Day Cards, better late than never! And...Announcements!!!

Before I get started with this blog post, I have a couple of announcements that I want to share with you all.

First, Father's Day will be celebrated with the creative geniuses of "Just a Few Friends" On June 8th.  Please make sure you stop by and see what we all have done for the Daddy's in our lives!

And Second, on June 15th there will be another special blog hop.  I can't divulge all of the details, but to say that I am now also part of a group called the "Sassy 5" and we are going to be celebrating a brand new and AWESOME release of something you won't want to miss.  We are working with Elsa, of Just a Few Designs, and she has a super special, awesome and wonderful surprise for us all!

And now, for the blog post!

Here are the Mother's Day cards I came up with this year.  Yes, between me and my hubby, we have 4 mom's!  We love them all so very much!   I bought a card kit from my local scrapbook store,
A Joy Forever.  Follow the link and you will get her directions for the cards on the blog that they just started!  Joy created the designs, made the kits, and I LOVED IT THE MOMENT I SAW IT!  I did some tweaking to the cards for the Mother's Day cards, buying some dimensional stickers that matched the paper line.
The paper line is Knee Highs and Bow Ties by Basic Grey and it is soooooo cute!  I also found out, because of the goodies in this kit, that the "candy dots" by My Mind's Eye are a MUST HAVE!  I went out and bought 4 packages of several different colors!

Have a wonderful and safe Memorial Day, and remember...Stay Crafty, My Friends!

Butterfly Specimen Box

I got this kit from SEI at the last scrapbooking convention I went to. It came in one of their club kits, and I knew when I saw it that my mom had to have it.  So, I made it for Mother's Day! I know the post is a little late, but Mom got it on time!!!
I think it turned out really cute.  It measures about 8 1/2 x 8 1/2".  I added a little bling, and lining to the inside.

I bought a second blank shadow box.  I just have to figure out what to do with it for decorating my room!!

Happy Mother's Day!

I made this for my awesome Mom, Jo Ann!!!  I gave it to her last night, and she loved it.

I found the printable here, at A Proffittable Life.  Thank you so  much for sharing, Amy!!  She has different colors to choose from.  I liked the red!

I printed it out at about 3 1/2" by 5 1/4", matted it with black and then with some yummy papers from DCWV's Bella Boutique Stack.  I had a wooden frame that I painted, then covered with some coordinating papers from the  same stack.  I used a floral spray from Recollections, and used a rhinestone photo corner that I cut up to create the bling.  I punched a MS butterfly and added pearls for the body.

Happy Mother's Day, Mom!  I love you!

Post Mother's Day Posting!

This is an Artist Tray by 7 Gypsies that I decorated for my mom for Mother's Day.  The papers were mostly from Making Memories, from their Vintage Findings line.  I loved that line, and my local stores don't carry it anymore!  I also had some old papers from the Life's Journey line by K & Co., and some others that I am not sure what they were.  I made the flowers in the top and bottom of the tray using my Cricut/Gypsy.  I used 3D foam dots and chalk inks to give a lot of the elements some dimension.

The cast of characters in this lovely tray, from top to bottom, left to right...my son-in-law Jeremy, with my daughter, Beth; my grandson, Cooper; my future daughter-in-law Sarah, with my son, Neil; my son Jake; and my wonderful husband, DJ and myself.

Stay crafty, my friends!
