"Life's A Journey" Wall Rosette

 Hi All!  I have posted a show and tell/tutorial on how I created this "Wall Rosette" using my design team package from Country Craft Creations.  I am using the "Life's a Journey" collection by Graphic 45 and it is FANTASTIC!

I'll tell you everything I did to create this, and show another one that I made for Halloween.  I love these because they are easy to make and very versatile.

Butterfly Mobile

I just had to show you the mobile I made!  It was from an SEI paper crafting kit club kit that I have had in my stash for a while.  It soooooo belonged in this corner of our "grandkids room".  I didn't add as many butterflies as they wanted me to in the pattern, and I think it turned out just as nice!  It looks just BEAUTIFUL when the breeze catches it!

7 Gypsies Artist Tray and a Paper Clip Banner

 Oh, this is one of my favorite projects!  I bought this kit at the Embellish It! crop that Jackie and I went to. It is a kit by "Button Farm".   It uses 7 Gypsies papers, ephemera, and tags.  I added a few things.

 I knew when I say the kit that it would be PERFECT to showcase some pictures of my grandkids.  And was I right!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE how this turned out!

 I have always loved 7 Gypsies and this project was so fun and easy to do.

 I just wanted to share this, I really do think it is one of my all time favorite pieces.

With the leftovers I made this Paper Clip Banner.  I had these giant paperclips and created this hanging.  It is hanging in my craft room.  I think it turned out super cute!

Graphic 45 Valentine Challenge

 I decided to join the Valentine's themed challenge on Graphic 45 and see if my submission might be chosen to win a wonderful prize package of their luscious products.  The project is supposed to be Valentine/Love themed and, of course use their paper and products.  This is what I came up with. 

  I found the heart at my local Craft Warehouse, and the tag album, then I got the idea.  I found hooks and went to town using they paper line "Mon Amour".  The above picture is my layout idea that I was playing with.  I usually take a picture of things after I am happy with their placement and  before I adhere them so that I can reference the picture as I build my project.

 I created a wall hanging that can be changed.  Each hook has four of the Graphic album tags.  I covered them with papers front and back so that multiple pictures can be placed and changed at will.

 I added some of the butterflies by Graphic 45, along with their brads for the centers.  I added bling by Eyelet Outlet.

 I fussy cut some of the roses and leaves, and layered them with the pictures.  I added a key by Graphic 45 as well, the "key to my heart" you know!

 Another butterfly, more bling and some more fussy cut flowers.  I also used Graphic 45's brads in the hooks that I bought.  I think they fit perfectly with the style of this project.

 My intent with this project is to add my favorite photos of me and my awesome hubby, DJ, and have room to add more through the years.

Ruler Decor

 I found these awesome rulers in a clearance bin and picked them up, not knowing what in the world I was going to do with them.  I don't even know who makes them, but they were cool, and they were inexpensive, and I figured that I would do something with them.

Then one day I was on Pinterest and saw something similar.  You can find that here on Ana White's blog. 

I got the rulers and went through my stash of clothes pins and found these, made by Queen and Company.  

All I did was arrange the rulers and hot glue them into position.  Then I added the clothes pins and hot glued them.  I left the hangers on the ends of the rulers so that I can hang this up.  I plan to put pictures of my grandkids on this.  I haven't hung it up yet because I have to find the best possible place to put it.

I wanted to share it because it is super easy to make and will make such a cute addition to your decor.

Vintage Style Halloween Star

 IT'S HALLOWEEN SEASON!!!!  YIPEE!!!!!

Ok, you all know that this is my favorite holiday...and I have been making some new things to decorate my home with.  The first project in my new decoration arsenal is this vintage style halloween star.  I have seen these all over the net, and have seen one in a store that I just loved.  So,  came home and made my own version.

 It's awesome!!!  I made a barn star, put it on a doily shape that I got from Silhouette, made a rosette and added a spider web, also from Silhouette.  Then I layered some embellishments!

 I used a Tim Holtz hanger to hang it with, adding a nice little Jack-O-Lantern charm to it.  I also used some Stickles to bling it up a bit.

The papers I used were from Bazill and American Crafts. The decorative papers and die cuts are from My Mind's Eye, the "Frightful" collection.  I love how it turned out!!

I am making a lot of cool things, and I am planning on making a video of our house after it is completely haunted...I'm soooooo excited!

Happy Memorial Day

Yes, I know, I am a little late.  I'm sorry about that.  But, what I want to show you is actually a project that can be used for Memorial Day, Independence Day, Veteran's Day, or any other time you want to feel patriotic and thankful for the men and women who have served our country past and present.

 I have seen many examples of this type of project on Pinterest, and I thought that I would make myself one.  I hung it in our upstairs hall and it is visible from the downstairs, so it's a perfect spot.  I usually hang a quilt that says "Bless our Home" that my mom made for us when we got our first house.  At Halloween I have another hanging that goes here, and a Christmas Quilt goes here for the month of December.  We needed something for those other holidays.

Here is my interpretation.  I got a piece of star fabric and sewed it to create a pocket.  I put the strips of ribbon inside the pocket and sewed them in place.  I used two strips of wide ribbon for the top, creating a tube for the curtain rod.  When I sewed the bottom edge of the ribbon tube, I tucked the stars and the ribbons inside to attach them.  I think it turned out pretty darn cool, and I will be proud to hang it in my home.  The examples I linked to are a bit more ornate than mine, but that's the beauty of this project.  You can make it as frilly as you like.  I did use lace in the project, but just enough, I think, to make this project pop.

The piece is about 2 x 3' total, and it took about one hour to make.
