Tea File

To make this project I used 7Gypsies book covers, random double sided papers, a label punch and metal letters for the title.
I was inspired to make this when I saw all the different varieties of Tazo Tea!

I covered the inside of the covers and separated every two bags of tea with a sheet of patterned paper.
I glued a scrap of ribbon under the cover lining on both sides to hold it up so it will stand.
The binding was a simple accordion fold, scoring every inch to create a place to tuck the tea bags.
I will be working on a tutorial to follow!

Photo box

I found another great class by Marion Smith for Prima on Ustream
On the link you will find a full tutorial on how to make this great project.  For mine I used Heidi Swapp's Sparkle stack, adding flowers made with the Cricut and American Crafts.  The chipboard swirls are from Maya Roads embellished with a little glimmer mist!
Marion used Kraft envelopes for her pockets and I used cd envelopes.  The cards were created with double sided papers from the line and I punched tabs with the scraps!  The cards are now ready for notes, journaling or photos.
Overall this project was pretty easy to do, but I would recommend watching her video first, taking notes on measurements etc. then complete project. Have fun!

Mini Travel Album

This mini album is from another great monthly kit club called the Button-Farm that Michelle and I L-O-V-E!!!  I tweeked my kit a bit making it a travel album with alternate papers I added.

A great Bare Naked chipboard and canvas album was provided with plenty of embellishments.

We altered envelopes to create additional pages!

I really enjoy the creative ideas that are packed into these kits, looking forward to seeing the new creation every month!

Something different in a Paper Weight

Using the great paper line, Once upon a Springtime by Graphic45 I created a fun paper weight!

These clear acrylic paper weights are 3" in diameter and have a removable magnetic backing.  My 3" circle punch worked perfect for covering the back.  I then cut out the frog to place inside and attached the fairy.
Using Beacon's 3 in 1 glue I adhered the ribbon along the edge.  Moss from a nearby tree gave it some texture.
I carefully covered the fairy with Diamond Glaze letting it dry for about 30 minutes, then very gently bent her causing the glaze to crack.  I think this will make a fun gift!

M for Melanie

I found these giant letters at Michael's craft store and decided to decorate my daughter's room!  I used the Euphoria line by Basic Grey and the matching stickers. The letters are 2"x12" and a sheet of paper with the boarder stickers worked great!  I embellished with rhinestones and the white Uniball pen.  She loves it!

Altered Books

I spent some time this weekend altering old books!  Marion Smith put on a great class last Thursday on Ustream, watch it here= http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/13073025

I found books at a flea market in town.
I used plenty of great flowers and embellishments from Tim Holtz and the Recollections line.
In her class she painted her cover, I just distressed and Inked mine.
Her instructions leave you with Soooo many pages!

I used Glimmer Mist in Olive Vine on this flower.

I already started on a second book!

2011 Planner

I wanted to tell you about this great project I found over at Creativity Prompt called Make Your Own Planner, and you can find it here http://www.creativityprompt.com/new-workshop-make-your-own-planner-2011/?c=InPostAd

This the cover that I made for mine using Graphic45

She gives you lots of great extra bonus pages to print off for future projects, lists, to do's and weekly spreads.  It is offered at a great price and would make a great Christmas gift because you can print as many as you want and design your own cover!
